2. Recovering lost item
Items lost in the canton of Geneva and handed in to a police station or the Geneva public transports (TPG) are centralised at the lost property office. Each item handed in is treated with care, and when the owner can be identified, the service attempts to contact him or her as soon as possible.

Anyone who has lost an item, whether it is valuable or not, in the canton of Geneva can contact the lost property office to retrieve it.
How
At the lots property office
You can go directly to the lost property office with all the relevant information (photos, invoice, description of the item, IMEI number for smartphones or tablets, etc.). You can also call us or send us an email.

The lost property office does not return lost identity documents or residence permits. To enable you to replace your identity documents, you should request a certificate of loss or a duplicate residence permit. |

When
It is best to contact the lost property office as soon as possible, preferably the day after you lose your item.
Some items, such as keys, may take several days to arrive at the office.
Lost property handed in to a police station or the TPG is automatically passed on to the lost property office. It can usually be collected from the lost property office the following day (except at weekends).
Terms
You must present your identity card at the lost property office.
Price
The price for returning your item depends on its value. You will be charged a minimum of CHF 10.
Accepted payment methods : TWINT, PostFinance, debit/credit cards and cash in Swiss francs.
