6. Permit for post-studies job search - non EU/EFTA

For whom

Non EU/EFTA Students who have completed their studies at a higher or specialised school may apply for a short-term permit (L permit) to seek employment in Switzerland.

Graduate students from a school not included in the list of accredited Swiss Higher Education Institutions as well as post-doctoral fellows are not eligible for such a permit.

When

Your application must be submitted no later than 15 days before the end of your studies.

What

The validity of this permit begins upon completion of the studies (based on the date of the academic transcript). This permit is valid for 6 months and is not renewable.

Terms

Students who engaged in ancillary gainful activity during their studies may maintain it during their job search.

Attachments

  • Form K duly completed and signed
  • Colour copy of valid passport
  • Copy of the final academic transcript
  • Copy of diploma if already available
  • Proof of financial means for six months
  • Proof of accommodation
