4. Ancillary activity
For whom
Foreign students with a B or L permit may benefit from an ancillary activity during their studies. The have to apply for an ancillary activity.
Terms
For EU/EFTA students:
- The maximum working time is 15 hours per week during the school or academic year and 40 hours during university holidays.
For non-EU/EFTA students:
- You can start working at the earliest 6 months after the start of the course
- You must be enrolled in a Swiss Higher Education Institution
- The maximum working time is 15 hours per week during the school or academic year and 40 hours during university holidays
- You must wait for the decision of the Cantonal Office of Population and Migration before starting working
Attachments
- Form E duly completed, dated and signed by the beneficiary and the employer
- Colour copy of a valid I.D.
- Approval letter issued by the Swiss Higher Education Institution for the non-EU/EFTA students
