list OF EU / EFTA MEMBER STATES / NEW EU MEMBERS / OTHER COUNTRIES

EU - European Union :

EU - 25 :

Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
Since 1 st May 2011 : Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Slovak Republic.

For the nationals of these countries, the free movement of persons is complete. There are no longer any transitional provisions with regard to them.

EU - 2 :

Romania and Bulgaria.

For nationals of these countries, there are transitional provisions limiting their first access to the Swiss labour market (in particular observance of priority for the Swiss labour market). The same apolies to service providers in certain fields.

EFTA - European Free Trade Association :

Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway.

The nationals of these countries are subject to the same rules as those applicable to the citizens of EU-25 countries.

OTHER COUNTRIES :

All other countries of the international community.
